To configure inventory as a vaccine you will need to add an inventory type and then add info to the inventory item.
First we will add the inventory type. Go to the gear menu in the upper right of VetBadger and then select "Inventory Settings".
This will bring you to the Inventory -> Inventory Types manager.
If you notice, in this clinic there are already several vaccine types configured.
IMPORTANT: types should be specific to the type of vaccine (Rabies vs Lepto vs Lepto/DAP combo etc). This is what will drive reminders, so to make sure the reminders are correct, the types (and how they are assigned) need to be distinct.
To add a new type, click on the "+ Add" button which will bring up the Inventory Item Type editor.
The critical items here are the description and if the type is a vaccine (or combo vaccine) or not and if the type should be remindable. To set remindability you need to scroll the editor a small bit.
For the purpose of adding a Vaccine type we can leave the vaccine selector as the default as well as the is remindable selector and just add a Description.
Now that we have added the description, we can just click "Save" to add the type.
If we scroll down the list we now see the type:
Next we want to associate inventory that came from QuickBooks with the type. To do that we select the "Inventory" Tab.
Next we add some text to filter the results by so we don't need to keep scrolling.
In this example the rabies vaccines have already been associated with the type. In your case you can click on the row you want to associate, which will bring up the Inventory Information editor.
Here you can see how this one is already associated with the Rabies type. You will want to click on the select and then pick the type we just added:
This is also where you would add additional information like the instructions and processing instructions.
For lot management, you can scroll the tab bar to the right and then select "Lot Management"
This example already has lot information, but you can just click "Add Lot Info" to add new lot information.
Once you are done, you can click "Save" and this Inventory item will be configured as a remindable (rabies) vaccine.
Just repeat this for any other vaccines you want to add. One more detail is that you can create remindable items that are not vaccines as well. This setting is the first one we ran into when we were creating the type. An example of a non-vaccine remindable might be yearly lab work.
