Things come up.  Sometimes a Veterinarian or a Technician notices something in a simple exam which requires a more extensive exam immediately.  VetBadger allows for each exam type to have its own SOAP.  For the vast majority of situations this is exactly what you need, but it does prevent us from changing one type of appointment into another type of appointment once you've started. So how do you handle this with VetBadger? The answer is to create a new appointment with the correct new type immediately. This will allow the medical record to reflect the situation correctly as well as allow for all the correct information to be recorded for the new Appointment type that you are switching to. Depending on the situation, you may or may not decide to invoice out the first (original) appointment, and you always have the option (in QuickBooks) to adjust the final charges to reflect the situation.


If the appointment is for multiple patients, the solution is slightly different.  In this case the appointment should be modified to remove the patient who needs a different type of appointment and that patient alone should have a new appointment of the correct type created for them.
