The default treatment reminder system for VetBadger will generate tasks for each patient who has treatments (vaccines etc) that will be due. These tasks are created 7 days before the due date of the treatment.
You can easily replace this default behavior by setting your own treatment reminder rules on the "Inventory Settings" ==> "Treatment Reminders" page. Once you click the "Add Reminder" button you'll see this window:
The initial settings for this "config" would match the default system behavior (tasks generated seven days in advance). The simplest adjustment would be to extend the "Days from now" buffer so that the tasks are generated 14 days, 21 days, or whatever amount of time fits the flow in your schedule.
The more complex settings are available if you choose the "Automatic" checkbox, which will require that you enable either/both of the "SMS Config" or "Email Config" settings. In this case, the system will send messages instead of creating tasks, and the structure and timing of those messages can be configured in various ways.
For example, using the "Send during business hours" feature will cause the messages to be sent out when your clinic is open so that your clients can respond immediately. (By default, the messages will be sent at midnight.) Opening the "SMS Config" area will show you these options as well:
The templates will let you customize the messages that are sent. Using the "Inventory Specific SMS Templates" will let you send different messages for different types of treatments, and using the "EXCLUDE" feature will prevent the system from triggering this reminder rule unless the treatment matches one of the specific templates. These templates support the same token replacement syntax that is described for the "Text Expander" system:
Creating multiple treatment reminder rules will give you the option of sending multiple reminders on different schedules, via different channels, and/or with specific timing for specific treatments:
